CORYLUS RETREATS LTD – CANCELLATION POLICY
This Cancellation Policy applies to all direct bookings made with Corylus Retreats Ltd through our website, by email, or by phone.
Bookings made through third-party platforms (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com) are additionally subject to those platforms’ own terms. Where there is a conflict, the platform’s policy may prevail.
1. Deposit and Balance Payments
Deposit
A 30% deposit is required to secure a booking.
The deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.
Balance
The remaining balance is due 42 days (6 weeks) before arrival.
If the balance is not paid by the due date, the reservation may be cancelled and the deposit retained.
2. Guest Cancellations
2.1 Cancellations more than 42 days before arrival
If you cancel more than 42 days (6 weeks) before arrival:
Your deposit is retained (non-refundable).
Any balance payment already made will be refunded in full.
2.2 Cancellations 42 days or fewer before arrival
If you cancel 42 days (6 weeks) or fewer before arrival:
Your deposit is retained.
Your balance payment will only be refunded if we are able to re-sell the cancelled dates.
If we are able to re-sell all or part of your dates:
Any refund will be based on the actual amount recovered from the re-sale.
We reserve the right to adjust the nightly rate if required to secure a re-booking.
Any payment-processing fees or transaction costs incurred during the original booking or the re-sale may be deducted from the refund.
We cannot guarantee that cancelled dates will be re-sold.
3. Partial Stays, Late Arrivals & Early Departures
No refunds are given for:
Late arrival
Early departure
Reduction in guest numbers
Any unused portion of the booking
4. Our Right to Cancel
In the very unlikely event that Corylus Retreats Ltd must cancel your stay due to circumstances beyond our control (for example essential repairs, property damage, or regulatory issues), you will receive a full refund of all monies paid.
This refund will constitute our full liability. We cannot accept responsibility for additional costs such as travel, insurance, or alternative accommodation.
5. Guest Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that guests obtain adequate travel and cancellation insurance.
This is particularly important because:
We cannot insure against guest circumstances (such as illness, travel disruption, or personal emergencies).
Our ability to refund late cancellations depends entirely on our capacity to re-sell the dates.
6. Events Outside Our Control (Force Majeure)
Corylus Retreats Ltd is not liable for cancellations, delays, or disruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
Severe weather
Road closures or access issues
Illness or injury
Transport disruption
Strikes
Utility outages
Government restrictions
Where feasible, and entirely at our discretion, we may offer a re-booking to alternative available dates, but this is not guaranteed.
7. Third-Party Bookings
For bookings made through online travel agents (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.), the respective platform’s cancellation policy applies.
Any direct-booking advantages or flexibility outlined above may not be available through third-party agents.
