About Corylus

A place to settle in, with clarity, space, and a strong connection to the landscape

The setting

Corylus sits above Loch Broom, just outside Ullapool on Scotland’s west coast.

The position looks out across the loch towards Ullapool and the surrounding hills. The village is close by for shops, food, and access to the wider area, while the immediate setting remains quiet and open.

The apartments

Two independent apartments, each designed with a clear layout and a strong connection to the view.

Fjell — one-bedroom apartment, oriented east along the loch and catching the early light.
Fjord — two-bedroom apartment, facing west towards Ullapool and the evening sun.

Both apartments include covered outdoor areas and are arranged to make the most of light throughout the day.

Exclusive use

Fjell and Fjord can be booked together for exclusive use, providing space for up to six guests.

This works well for families or small groups who want to stay together, while keeping separate living spaces.

What’s provided

Each apartment is fully equipped for self-catering, with a focus on clarity and ease of use.

Kitchens include full cooking facilities, appliances, and essential items for day-to-day use. Living spaces are simple and comfortable, with reliable Wi-Fi and space to rest or read. Bedrooms are set up with high-quality bedding, and bathrooms are finished with walk-in showers and underfloor heating.

Design approach

The building is designed with a focus on simplicity, durability, and long-term use.

Materials are natural and robust. The layout avoids unnecessary complexity, and each space is arranged to work well throughout the day and across the seasons.
